Online MBA Program Earns Top Ranking from The Princeton Review

Stan State’s Inclusion Marks Its First Appearance in the Online Ranking

Stanislaus State’s Online Master of Business Administration (OMBA) program has been ranked in the top 145 online MBA programs for 2023 by The Princeton Review, an education services company that provides tutoring, test preparation and admissions resources for students.

It is the first time Stan State’s Online MBA program has been included in the ranking since the listing started in 2015.

“This is a great honor for our students,” said Terence Pitre, dean of the College of Business Administration at Stan State. “It demonstrates the college’s commitment to providing a quality experience for our students and the community where they work and live.”

The rankings are based on survey results from students and administrators of each program. Student surveys measure satisfaction overall and with a program’s academics, faculty, students and technology platforms. Administrator surveys gather data about school admissions, selectivity, faculty training and credentials, technological infrastructure, graduation rates, career outcomes and other topics. The Review analyzes all information received through the surveys and uses more than 60 data points to tally the lists.

The Review noted that Stan State’s Online MBA program started in 2012, is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and has an acceptance rate of 85 percent. Of the 38 students enrolled in the program in 2022, 42 percent were underrepresented minorities, 50 percent were women and 80 percent were employed full time. The company also considered that scholarships are available, and the average annual aid package is just under $18,000.

Upon release of the rankings, the Review stated that online MBA programs have become as rigorous as their on-campus counterparts and may be a smart choice for many business school candidates.

“Online programs offer flexibility, affordability and access to innovative technologies for students from a diversity of career backgrounds and global opportunities,” the company stated.

Stan State has been recognized by The Review many times in the past. For 17 consecutive years, the University has held a spot on the company’s list of best colleges, with the most recent listing occurring last summer. At that time, The Review also named Stan State one of the top 126 universities in the West along with eight other California State University campuses.

Last fall, Stan State’s sustainability practices earned it a spot on The Review’s 2023 “Guide to Green Colleges,” which serves as a resource for college applicants looking for schools committed to environmental responsibility.
